Ah, after… “I want my life back”!
I’ve been through the pain of breast cancer.
Overnight the sky falls on your head.
You are alone at home while others go on with their “normal lives”.
You fight, you support medical treatments, operations and you are simply asking to be able to go on your way… No matter which one, no matter what future stones on your way, but just keep on going.
You feel that you have not enough enjoyed life, that you have not done it completely… You feel like you haven’t enough said to people around you that you love them, too.
Worse than an indefinite lockdown.
The doctors encourage you but do not give you real perspectives of recovery with a precise date.
Worse you are advised not to plan to return to work, not to plan to go on vacation, only to focus on the present even if you want to forget it a little.
I don’t blame them; on the contrary, I understand their inability to predict the future and I admire their hard work.
Of course, you dream of going back to your previous life… And maybe right now you’re feeling the same thing, the same feeling that you have not enough enjoyed life…
And then the day of “normal life” comes back. You are happy to see your colleagues, your entourage, you want to embrace life, to travel the world.
You go back to sports, make your wish lists, discover new activities, meet other people…
I quickly realized that it was easy to return to bad habits. Finally, whatever the trials, however painful they may be, we tend to let ourselves be carried away by our daily lifestyle and miss the essential.
I felt there was still something missing… Something I’ve been able to enjoy during this complicated year:
I had time to know myself better, to discover what was my motor of life, my true values, the ones that keep you going through the worst moments.
I decided to change my professional direction, to become a sophrologist and to help others manage their stress, look at life from a different perspective, recover self-confidence…
So finally, are you going to get your life back? …
It’s up to you!
Take this time as a great opportunity to get back on track!
